Realtor Bryony Atkinson hosted the terrific opening salvo for Wild Yards Project’s "Revitalizing Real Estate in the 21st Century" initiative at her inspired collective, Maisonre, down in Glassel Park. The 20+ realtors in attendance offered tough questions and smart suggestions for making home transition simpler and more sustainable for the seller and buyer alike. Two of the bigger concerns realtors raised were: A) How to “dress” the landscape attractively with natives without costing a fortune, and, B) How to get the new tenant off on the right path when it comes to creating a yard they love at a price they can afford. So, Wild Yards Project is now generating a document just for realtors, featuring simple clear take-away on beneficial alternatives to traditional, exotic “flipper” plants, a directory for native plant nurseries and landscapers to get the job done, and finally, a beneficial planting strategy package for the new homeowner. The goal is not just to inspire, but to be able to seize upon that inspiration and give people the tools they need to begin transforming their worlds, whether they’re selling or buying that new home.
